Tybee Island

Tybee Island is located approx. 18 miles east of Savannah. It is a very popular tourist location with it's many features. One of the main features being it's 3 mile long pristine beach which attracts lots of sun dwellers during the day and party loving people at night. It has lots of restaurants and bars to choose from for a perfect night out.

 

The Fort Pulaski National Monument is well worth a visit. The fort was captured during the American civil war in 1862 and this proved to be a defining moment in it's history. Also at the fort is lots of scenic marshland with many different species of wildlife to be marvelled at. It really is a great day out and one not be be forgotten.

The word "Tybee" actually means 'Salt' to Native Americans.

Not only does Tybee Island offer many lively events and activities but it also has lots of things for people who enjoy more of a quiet life.

It is steeped in history and has lots of monuments and architecture to marvell at.
